she looked across the camp smiling as she saw the caves it was leaf bare and the snow was thick she was going to train sorrel paw to fight but she would do hunting first it was easy for snow clan to hunt in leaf bare and not so easy in summer as two legs called it (for @darknight0630 @nite Giftstar Heronstrike) |

The brown and white shecat padded from the apprentice den and shook her fur out with a yawn. She looked around te clearing before padding I we to Icestar upon seeing her. "Hi Icestar. Is training soon?" She asked

Moondust's eyes snapped open with a start. She leapt to her paws and ducked, nearly being cat spagettie. The deputy slid out and bounded oer to Icestar. "Morning." Moondust meowed to the two.

Heronpaw slinked out of the apprentices' den, feeling like Sorrelpaw was not in the den anymore, and then remembered that there was training today, so he headed over to the other three - his leader, his denmate, and his mentor.
He flicked his tail, ready to begin learning whatever they were going to do.

Good morning, Heronkit." Moondust meowed as her apprentice slank out of the den. The breeze flushed by, and the wind was clear. No rain. "Are we ready, Icestar?" The deputy meowed, relishing the cool breeze. She felt a tingle of excitement rip through her. She was about to work with her first apprentice! "How does it feel to be an apprentice?" Moondust questioned her her brother, gazing out apon the stretches of land that lay ahead.

she stopped and spotted a snow hare quitly she stalked it her paws lightly touching the snow she leaped and caught it by the neck she walked back to sorrelpaw the rabbit in her mouth she dropped it "lets start to learn how to do the hunting crouch"

"Good morning Moondust." he peeped back to his sister. "It's okay I guess." The tom shrugged, not really knowing why he was so pumped in becoming an apprentice in the first place. Maybe it was to get rid of Sorrelpaw, but nope. She was an apprentice now too.
He then said his good morning to Sorrelpaw and Icestar too, taking in that he was going to hunt with Moondust. Fun.

She took a breath and crept forwards. Her front paws where fine but she was putting a bit more weight on her back paws making them crunch slightly. She frowned in disapproval and backtracked her steps to try again. The once shy and happy shecat was replaced with a blank determined apprentice

Moondust stalked out of camp, tail flicking for him to follow. Instantly, a scent of mouse hit her nose. "Do you know what that animal scent is?" Moondust quizzed.

Heronpaw followed, awed by the beauty of the whole scenery. It was a lot different in camp, who knew? When questioned about the smell, he wrinkled his nose, and really tried to find what Moondust was smelling. "Uhhh, cat?" he answered dumbfound. There was Snowclan smells everywhere.

She nodded and did as instructed and crept forwards. Making sure to keep downwind of the rabbit before pouncing when in the killing zone.

Moondust shook her head. "That's rabbit." She meowed. "When hunting a rabbit, you have to have light feet. Like this..." Moondust locked into a hunters crouch and began prowling. Her tail levitated above the ground. "Now you try." She sugjessted as she sat up.

Ohh, that was rabbit. He leaned forward, trying to find out the smell of rabbit, and once he smelled something different, he just assumed that was it. He listened carefully. Light feet. So he tried, only to stumble his first try of the hunter's crouch, tumbling around. As embarrassing as it was, he reapproached the crouch, and copied what Moondust was instructing.

Perfect!" Moondust praised her apprentice. "Do you want to hunt the rabbit?" Sh meowed, leaping over a small patch of frosted snow. She landed lightly, and whispered in Heronpaw's ear. "Rabbits can sence things through the ground. So step like lightly."

He purred by the compliment, and then nodded. Of course he wanted to hunt, did she forget?
Testing out the snow, he pressured his pads to the amount of snow, and once he was sure that he would not sink in, he was ready. Heronpaw remained in the hunter's crouch, tail slightly following him. He then stared at Moondust, for what's next.

"Now, stalk quietly that way." Moondust meowed, flicking her tail to the left. Moondust then headed off to the right, paws moving lightly in the snow. She spotted the rabbit a tail leinth away, and she stopped. She swished her tail, trying to indicate that she would chase the rabbit at him.
