Nightshade pounded out of the camp entrance, her eyes flashing. Thoughts buzzed in her mind. The sky overhead was thick with rainclouds, the scent of rain heavy in the humid air. Her fur bristled as if she faced her worst enemy. Nightshade was used to doing things like what she did to Moondust, but when she did it, something clicked...

Phantomshadow yawned as he tiredly padded from yet another border patrol. Nothing seemed amiss than goodness. He feared Snowclan would try and retaliate from the battle before. But yet again...try had lost someone and they were small already. Perhaps they didn't want to risk it. Either way the deputy was glad for the peace.
He was lost in thought when his ears heard the sound of loud paws steps running. He blinked in confusion and darted after the sound. Catching a Wift if Nightshade's scent. Good, he had been meaning to check up on here since the battle. Taking a life is never an easy feat. Spotting the dark furred shecat ahead he quickened his pace.
"Nightshade! Hey wait up!" He called frowning as he saw her tense and battle ready appearence. "Hey you ok? You seem sort of tense." He commented behind her.

Nightshade slowed, hearing Phantomshadow's yowl. Her breath was completely gone, but reflex in an instant. With wild eyes, the shecat slowed to a halt. "Phantomshadow!" She exclaimed, relief slipping into her voice. Nightshade shifted, suddenly feeling a scratch that she'd received from the battle. "Greetings."
Nightshade blinked her green eyes, white and black dappled fur beginning to lay flat. Yet, her eyes still contained a wildness that engulfed her. "Er.. This is an awkward question, but will you walk with me?"

He slowed his pace and stopped as he was acknowledged before padding closer to stand beside her. His green eyes quickly scanning her for the injuries. "Yeah sure. I actually wanted to see how you were doing..." He meowed tentatively. He didn't know how to breach the subject about Moondust without making it painful for her. "What was it you wished to talk to me about?" He asked as he tilted his head curiously

Nightshade closed her eyes tightly. "Err, nothing." She meowed, opening her green eyes. The shecat turned and began to pad away, slowing so Phantomshadow could catch up.
"Actually...." Nightshade began, but cut herself off. She couldn't be too blunt.

Frowning in concern he followed her. "Nightshade you can tell me anything. I'm here to help ok?" He moewed bumping her gently. "Come on what's on your mind?"

Nightshade bit her tongue. "Err, well I forgot what I was going to say." She lied, ears flicking ominously. Her eyes flashed a look at Phantomshadow, before fixing them upon the narrow path.

He frowned more and walked ahead and stopped right in her path. His green eyes narrowing into a glare that said he wasn't messing around. "Spill it Nightshade." He commanded. "Whatever you got to say just say it! You wouldn't have mentioned anything if you didn't have anything on your mind." He stated. Eyes assessing her reaction.

Nightshade gave a sharp growl. "Leave it, Phantomshadow." Her eyes were dark, thinking if the doom she faced if she did spill the beans. A heap of five on the side.

He growled lowly before stalking past her back the way he came. Very well, if she wasnt going to tell him there wasnt a point to walking with her. After all she was the one to have asked about the meeting. Sighing the tom shook his head. Stubborn shecats!

With a sigh, Nightshade padded the opposite way. How would she tell him! She had no idea how they would ever be mates. How.....

He padded through the forest and decided to hunt to clear his head. It wasnt his place to order people around like that. Even if he was deputy. But he was still her friend nonetheless. It sort of hurt him to see her reject him like that. Asides from her he really didn't have many people around him that he talks to. Fernshadow hadn't been around much anymore, Fallenpaw was too busy with her new cat training. And Twilightstar and him hasn't talked since the battle...the battle, was That what was bothering Nightshade?
Great now that he got to thinking he couldn't stop. So much for hunting! He padded closer to the Snowclan borders and gazed out across the snowy land and frowned. Oh the jumbled thoughts ran too fast in his head it was driving him mad!

Nightshade growled in anger at herself. The shecat turned towards the border that marked clan territory, and began angrily racing towards it. Her eyes were dark and shady, anger bubbling.

He closed his eyes and tilted his head up to the sky. So many emotions boiled inside him. I guess people hadn't gotten over the battle. Shaking his head the tom settled down and lied there just staring out at Snowclan's territory zoning out.
