The day was just barely breaking, and the bright blues of the white tom-kit sparkled with astonishment. That was the sun starting to rise, and it was really a sight to see. Taking a stretch, the tom-kit yawned larger than ever. He was larger than last night too - his nest was almost way too small for him now! Hopefully one of the queens would come around and help make a new one for him, though there was honestly no need.
He was the only kit in the clan at the moment, and he did not really mind. That just meant more care for him, and that his apprenticeship ceremony would be cast as a larger one than any other. He purred at the idea of having warriors fighting over dibs to mentor him, who wouldn't want to anyways? He would be the first kit to become an apprentice in a while!
As soon as he heard something outside, the kit ran to the nursery entrance, ready to strike any intruders. Oh, he was hungry, but was told not to go destroying the fresh-kill pile like what a typical kt would have done.
He wanted to be different, and already at a young age he knew that he truly was.

The white and brown tabby shecat yawned from where she had been dozing in the sunlight outside the nursery. She was new here and didn't have friends. Heck she didn't know anyone here but her mother. Sighing the pretty blue eyes shecat rose and headed towards the nursery. Not paying attention where she was going and bumped into someone. "Omg I'm so sorry! Sorry!" She yelped stumbling back and stared down at her paws afraid to look at the cat she ran into. Half expecting one of the other queens to scold her or something for running into them.

"Watch it!" he growled at the kit. "I thought that I was the only one who lived here. Great and now there's you."
The tom-kit looked down at the she-kit, since she was younger than he. Must have been from a new litter or something, but why didn't anyone tell him about a new family starting? Whatever. He was at least a moon older, guaranteeing his rite to apprenticeship way before this kit - hopefully. That was, if he did not screw this up.
"Uhh, there's my half there." he directed with his paw, showing the right side of the den, "and there can be your's. I guess." he snorted to the left.
"So what's your name kit?"

She flinched at his tone but refused to look at him. "S-Sorrelkit." She mumbled shuffling her feet.

He rolled his eyes. Of course she would hardly say anything. No one wanted to speak to him anyways, so why would the newcomer be any different? Sill him, believing that she could have changed it all.
"Well, I'm Heronkit." he said with a droll. He leaned in further towards her face, "boo," and then smiled.

She looked up at him with pale blue eyes and blinked at him. Unaffected from his little 'scare' "N-nice to meet you Haronkit." She muttered, her agitation was making her bolder. Honestly who did this kit think he was? Just cause she accidentally ran into him and all didn't give him the right to be so rude to her as if she were below him. They where den mates and clan mates. She internally sighed before turning to look at Icestar in surprise at her sudden appearance.

He blinked at Icestar, not really knowing that to say. "I'm frazzled that I would have to share this place with Sorrelkit." he replied, looking at his leader and then back to his den mate. "But I guess that we could be friends. Maybe." The tom-kit shrugged.
"Are you alright Sorrelkit? You're stuttering."

She looked away from him. "W-well y-yeah what do y-yo expect when you meet someone w-who doesn't like you. A bit intimidating." She mumbled before dashing past both of them into the nursery. Feeling uncomfortable

He shrugged, forgetting what Sorrelkit just said to him and too walked past their leader, headed to his corner, ready to gnaw on the wall.
This was pointless.

Heronkit simply gnawed on a root, looking at the leader and kit. Pah! Let them be friends with one another then. He did not need anyone, just himself, and with that, he was content. So let them be.

She looked over at Haronkit debating if she should ask if he wanted to play. She sighed returning to look at Icestar. "Sure!" she replied. "Why don't you play too Haronkit? No one deserves to be truly alone." She called

His ear flicked as he heard the furball call him name. Hmm? Play? He did not know how to play, but his tail swished with acknowledgement to the friendly request. She probably just wants to brainwash me. he thought, but managed to drop his root and pad over to the two rather cheery cats, sighing and rolling his eyes throughout the whole walk.
"You'll have to uhhh." he started, staring at Sorrelkit with the same expression he always given her, ". . . teach me how."
With this, the tom-kit sat down beside the two, ready to watch whatever game they were going to play. It was easier for him to watch and learn than to listen to a lecture anyways.

She swirled on him. Her pale blue eyes wide in surprise. "How can you NOT know how to play?" She questioned cocking her head. Then shaking it. "Well we could play mossball or tag. Play fighting or hide and go seek." She looked over at Icestar. "What game did you have in mind?" She asked curiously. Her shy nature gone replaced with a playful and outgoing kit

He blinked, hard, clearly confused of what the two were saying. Mossball? Tag? Play fighting, hide and go seek, or warriors? What was this nonsense? Why was Icestar calling himself a mouse?
His leader was much larger than a rodent, so he thought something was really wrong. He and Sorrelkit were still kits, not even yet apprentices, so why would they be warriors now?
"Umm, okay." he replied, not really sure what to do.

She watched her leader before turning to Haronkit. "Ok listen up. Obviously your clueless if that look says anything. What we are playing is pretend. You act like something your not for fun. Icestar is pretending to be a mouse. Obviously she isn't one but that's all part of pretending. We are warriors. And we must hunt her down as if we are truly hunting prey." She looked at him seeing if he understood so far. "It gives us both good practice for the future when we do become warriors. Ok? You understand?" She smiled patiently

"I think so." he muttered, giving Sorrelkit a shrug. He just realized that he was showing more of his vulnerable side at first, and he did not like that at all.
"Well? Are you coming? We have a mouse to catch!" he sneered bounding after Icestar.

Oh, duh. He looked back at the she-kit and smirked. Lowering himself into a hunter's crouch too, the tom-kit gently made his way to Icestar - wait, no - the mouse, and wondered if he and Sorrelkit would make this hunt successful or not.

Icestar looked around not noticing the hunter then she saw him she gave a half squeak half mew and jumped over to a tree root where she watched the warriors
Try to chase her then she grinned and jumped onto a branch

She stalked after her and watched her leap from the bushes so she darted forwards but she wasnt close enough and by that time Icestar had already jumped on a branch out of reach.
